For students who want to understand, not just memorise
Most students who struggle with Maths and Science are not short of effort. They were taught methods without the reasons behind them. At The Banyan Tree Learning Center, every topic starts with why: what the idea is for, where it comes from and where it is used. Only then do students practise.
Parents and former students often tell us that children who once feared Maths came to enjoy it, and some went on to score full marks in their board exams or chose Science after Class 10.
Subjects we teach
- Mathematics for CBSE and ICSE, Classes 8 to 10, and for boards and entrance exams in Classes 11 and 12.
- Physics and Chemistry for Classes 8 to 10, taught by Jay Kothari, a mechanical engineer turned teacher, and for Classes 11 and 12 in collaboration with Nucleus Learning Hub.
- Biology for Classes 8 to 10, taught by Urmi Kothari.
- Olympiad and Homi Bhabha preparation in our Foundation Plus programme for Classes 8 and 9.
How we teach Maths and Science
- Concepts explained in depth, with discussion and questions, before practice.
- Homework after every class, done independently, with doubts cleared at the start of the next class.
- A short review after every topic, so nothing waits until the exam.
- Separate CBSE and ICSE batches, because the two syllabi differ, especially in Class 10 Mathematics.
Our article on how to study Maths in Class 9 and 10 explains the method in detail.
Programmes
Maths and Science are part of Foundation Plus, Board Mastery, the High Performance Accelerator and ICSE Achievers. For Classes 11 and 12, see Physics, Chemistry and Maths for JEE, NEET and MHT-CET.
